Muslim And Christian Youths Clashes At A Popular Market In Kaduna, 55 Dies , 24hrs Curfew Imposed


Partisan brutality started by a spat at a market has left 55 individuals dead in Kaduna state.


Muslim and Christian young people allegedly conflicted after a line between work cart doormen in the town of Kasuwan Magani.

The state police chief said 22 individuals were captured after the distress.
Authorities have also imposed a round-the-clock curfew in the town and environs. .

Official presidential spokesperson, Garba Shehu, tweeted that Buhari found the country's frequent use of violence in such disputes "worrisome". .

Without harmony between different groups, "our everyday businesses would be impossible to achieve," the president said. .

He called on community leaders to encourage tolerance and stop such discord before it could develop into violence.
