Congressperson Ben Murray-Bruce has berated the poor condition of
education sector in Nigeria.
This statement follow the illicit trending of young people dropping out of school to take part in cyber crime.
Bruce noted that government had spent ₦24 billion building new offices and jail cells for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), an agency responsible for tracking financial fraudsters. Whereas in the educational sector, government have not spent the quantum of money spent on EFCC on any of government owned universities for capital expenditure or capacity building.
Bruce cited this as the major reason why youths leave books to face Yahoo which lands them in EFCC’s cell.
