19 Years To Build A Radio Station
Veteran media entrepreneur, Kenny Ogungbe, gave an insight of how hard it was for him to own a radio station, Sven though he had been in that field for over 30 years.
Speaking with Saturday Beats, Baba Keke stated that he chased the dream of owning a radio station for about 19 years before it become a reality.
"I had requested for a radio license over 19 years ago but I did not get it because to run a radio station in Nigeria. It must be approved by the President." He said.
"I'm not a politician and I do not have any affiliation with any political party neither do I have any godfather that could have helped me fast-track my request. It was Chief Raymond Dokpesi that spoke with former President, Good luck Jonathan and I was able to get the licence" he added.
Speaking about the challenges facing his business, he mentioned the lack of electricity as a forefront.
