The federal government has suspended its proposed Ruga settlements for Fulani
herders following waves of public opposition against the project, Scooper has learnt.
Presidential sources who hinted about the development said President Muhammadu Buhari took the decision after meeting with various stakeholders on the politically contentious project which the administration earlier claimed was a measure to contain the palpable clashes between herders and farmers.
It was learnt that the federal government also plans to work out more acceptable initiatives to put a final end to the herders-farmers crisis.
The impeccable sources revealed that anytime from now, the President will make an announcement with detailed explanations.
