Home of Senator Iyiola Omisore was ambushed by suspected hoodlum
linked to a popular Osun state politician as per reports received by Aynaijang News.
According to sources the attacked on the former Peoples Democratic Party’s chieftain – now with the ruling All Progressives Congress – was orchestrated by one Akindele Famuyide popularly called Jagu who personally led the invasion.
Senator Omisore’s residence is located in Parakin area of Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Investigation conducted by Aynaijang.com revealed Jagu to be formerly the “head thug” of Otunba Omisore.
The ugly incident transpired in the afternoon of Monday, July 8, 2019.
“They came in two 18 seated buses and went on rampage immediately they gained access into the politician’s house and started dealing with anybody on their way”, a witness stated.
According information, Omisore, a former deputy governor escaped unhurt during the attack.
Popular Customs boss Sogo Agboola among others were not as lucky as the heavy weight politician as they were seriously dealt with by the invaders.
Machetes, sticks among other dangerous weapons were unleashed on them, our source maintains.
Those who are familiar with the situation told us Omisore and his former loyalist became estranged during the last election when the latter worked against the former deputy governor’s anointed candidate Hon Bamisayemi for house of representatives seat.
Jagu was said to have openly supported Bimbo Ajilesoro the eventual winner of the house representatives seat against the wish of his former boss.
And they have remained sworn enemies ever since, another source pointed out.
What prompted Jagu to lead his boys to Senator Omisore’s home could not be confirmed immediately.
