    suspected to be kidnappers at Irese people group in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State.

    The suspects, sources stated, were arrested inside a tick forests at Irese people group with hazardous weapons by the vigilantes keeping an eye on the forest.

    A source said the three suspects belonged to the gang of kidnappers terrorising the people of the state and demanding heavy ransoms.
    A farmer at Irese community, Mr. Toyese Adebanji, confirmed the arrest of the suspects to journalists yesterday.
    Adebanji said the suspects were apprehended with guns, live bullets and charms at their hideout inside the Irese forest.
    He said: “The Fulani herdsmen were nabbed at Irese community by the vigilantes during an early morning raid.
    “Immediately after their arrest, they were taken to the palace of Olurese where they were interrogated.
    “They confessed belonging to a ring of kidnap-gang that scattered inside the forests of the state, where they always keep their victims.

    “In fact, one of them confessed that the ring leader in the camp escaped when the local vigilantes stormed the kidnappers’ den.
    “This same gang kidnapped some people at Odudu area and they also abducted a man at Ayee community but freed him after paying a ransom of N300,000.”
    The monarch of the town, the Olurese of Irese, Oba Babatunde Falegan, confirmed the arrest of the suspects to journalists in Akure.
    Falegan said that the suspects were brought to his palace where they confessed being members of a kidnap gang terrorising the state.

    He said: “The three kidnappers were brought to my palace by the vigilantes after they were apprehended during a search in the forest.
    “During interrogation, three of them confessed that they belonged to the gang of kidnappers operating inside the bushes of the state.
    “They revealed that they have carried out a series of kidnap cases mostly in this Ifedore Local Government Area of the state and other parts.
    “These herdsmen are scattered in the bushes of the state and they are using the forest for their hideouts.
    “We have handed the three of them to the military men for investigation and I still want to urge our people to be security conscious.”
    The monarch, however, pleaded with government and security agencies to beef up security in the community.
    The Commander of the 32 Artillery Brigade, Brig. General Zakari Logun Abubakar, confirmed the arrest of the three suspected kidnappers.
    Abubakar disclosed that the Anti-Kidnapping Squad of the Army base had already handed over the three suspects to the Department of State Services (DSS).
