  • 60 year old father of four defiles five year old girl in Otukpo

  • 60 year old father of four, Mr. Clement Ogeyi hasbeen arrested by the Police in
Otukpo local government area of Benue state for allegedly defiling a five year old girl.

Mr. Ogenyi who is said to operate a popular patent medicine store in the town where he lives with his family was alleged to be in the habit of defiling little children.

However, he was said to have ran out of luck at the weekend when he allegedly lured his five year old victim into his store and defiled her after which he was nabbed by members of the vigilante in Otukpo when the parents of his latest victim raised alarm.

A close relation of the victim told Vanguard on phone that the little girl had gone out to play "but on returning home we discovered her strange behavior and she complained of pains in her vagina.

"Initially she refused to disclosed to anyone what happened to her because the man had probably instilled fear in hear and warned that she should not tell anyone what happen.

"But after very close examination and prompting she disclosed that it was Ogeyi who allegedly defiled her because all the signs were there.
"The matter was instantly reported to the vigilante in Otukpo who immediately got him arrested and handed over to the Police Area office in Otukpo town.

"Perhaps if not for the quick intervention of the vigilante and a retired military officer, the mob that gathered after the news of the act got into town wanted to lynch him especially after another father also came out of the crowd to accuse him of doing the same thing to his little daughter few months back."

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Deputy Superintendent, DSP, Catherine Anene said the suspect was in the custody of the police while the matter was being investigated.
