Xenophobia: Buhari Orders Air Peace To Evacuate Nigerians That Wishes To Leave  South Africa

The central government on Wednesday said that Nigerians who wish to leave
South Africa in the wake of xenophobic assaults, will be evacuated from the nation with Air Peace on Friday

In an announcement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it uncovered that the offer was made by the Airline's CEO, Chief Allen Onyema, in solidarity with the Buhari led federal government.

The statement which was signed by Mr Ferdinand Nwoye, the ministry’s spokesman, added that the move is not compulsory but for only those who are willing to leave South Africa for Nigeria.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to inform the general public that following the recent unfortunate xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals, including Nigerians in South Africa, the Proprietor of Air Peace Airlines Chief Allen Onyema, has volunteered to send an aircraft on Friday 6th September 2019 to evacuate Nigerians who wish to return to Nigeria free of charge.

“The general public is hereby advised to inform their relatives in South Africa to take advantage of this laudable gesture. Interested Nigerians are therefore advised to liaise with the High Commission of Nigeria in Pretoria and the Consulate General of Nigeria in Johannesburg for further necessary arrangement”, the statement read.
Chief Onyema sympathized with all those who lost their loved ones and properties in the reneweda xenophobia attacks, and assured of the airline's support at all time.
