  • Oyo House Of Assembly Complex Invaded By Robbers, Properties Worth 500k Stolen
    Suspected robbers, today Wednesday,
October 2, invaded the Oyo state House of Assembly complex.

Spokesperson for the Oyo state House of Assembly, Kemi Ojoawo, said the hoodlums carted away electric cables worth N500,000 from the House.

Ojoawo also said the suspected hoodlums had broken into the state's House of Assembly complex last Thursday.

Although the spokesperson said the situation have been brought under control, Ojoawo also said that the House is investigating the matter.

“The situation is still under control. We are still investigating the matter. We are in charge. We will soon come out with our own position," Ojoawo said.

Also, sources within the complex said that the action of the robbers has slowed down legislative activities in the complex.

The sources said such acts by suspected hoodlums who steal electric cables from the complex is not new.

“I can recall this to be the third time cables were stolen overnight. Though it is the first time with the ninth assembly, but I remembered it happened twice during the eighth assembly and they spent close to one million naira to fix the damage."

“The unfortunate thing is that despite the investigation so far about it, the culprits have not been apprehended. This is why it continues," a source said.
