How Wizkid Cheated Kizz Daniel In Lagos 2019

It’s no longer news that Ayodeji Balogun a.k.a Wizkid
(Wizzy) and Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe a.k.a Kizz Daniel (Kizz) both had their music concerts in the month of December but what is bewildering is why Wizkid chose to have his much talked about concert, Starboy Fest Lagos on the same day as Kizz Daniel.

Records indicated that Kizz chose December 26, 2019 for his No Bad Songs Tour concert long before hand and preparations were already in top gear before the Star Boy boss announced his show would hold on the same day the Woju crooner already picked.

While Wizkid has had a terrific 2019 and was looking to end the year on a high following the commercial success of his works, one would have thought that Wizzy would have chosen a date different from that of his contemporary knowing fully well, he is more popular and indeed has a larger fan base than Kizz.

It’s also no longer news that Star Boy, Wizkid had a sold-out music concert at the Eko Energy City, Beside Eko Atlantic, Ahmadu Bello Way in the heart of Victoria Island, Lagos with a mammoth crowd attending his concert.
The crowd was so much that many feared there could be a stampede, even pictures that were released on social media alluded to this fact but fortunately, nothing of such happened.

As the popular saying goes ‘’We rise by lifting others’’, the question is how has Wizkid helped Kizz? It is obvious Wizkid pulled Kizz down by fixing his show for the same day. He made Daniel’s concert look ordinary to put it mildly, while fans also turned up for his concert but it would have better if the two of them had their events on different days, after all, December has 31 days and it still hasn’t ended yet.

The two artistes have had a good year. Wizkid alongside Beyonce’s child, Blue Ivy and American artiste, Saint Jhn featured on a song called 'Brown Skin Girl.' She also worked with a couple of other African stars on the project. When she was asked why she decided to feature artistes such as Wizkid on the album, the American songstress said "The soundtrack is a love letter to Africa. I wanted to make sure we found the best talent from Africa. Not just use some of the sounds and do my interpretation of it. I wanted it to be authentic about what is beautiful about the music in Africa."

Kizz on the other hand released a couple of hit songs in 2019, notable among them is the ‘fvck you’ track which several artistes jumped on including Fuji exponent, Wasiu Alabi popularly known as Pasuma. Kizz didn’t stop there, he also went on to release tracks such as Eko, Pak n Go, Akonda and Jaho.

While both artistes will not forget the year 2019 in a hurry, it would have been better if Wizkid didn’t fix the date for his concert on the same date with that of his Nigerian brother, Kizz Daniel as both of them are influential figures in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
