Ondo Missing Child: Pastor Goes On Hunger Strike, Collapses In Prison

If you are conversant with the story of Prophet Alfa
Babatunde, the founder and general overseer of Sotitobire Miracle Centre located in Akure, Ondo State, here is a fresh gist for you.

The clergyman who was remanded in Prison by a Magistrate court sitting in Oke- Eda, Akure till January 14, has allegedly refused to eat since he had been locked up at the Olokuta correctional Centre.

He was said to have collapsed on various occasions due to ill health and was taken to the prison clinic.

An official of the state correctional Centre who pleaded anonymity disclossed this in a chat with journalists, saying the pastor is really sick.

"It is true the pastor is sick. He had collapsed more than three times in the last one week and was taken to the prison clinic for a medical attention. He also refused to eat any food brought for him.

"He always wear a mourning look since he got here. We have shaved his head and beared and its obvious he was not happy about that." He said.

Recall that prophet Babatunde Alfa was arrested by men of the Department of State Security Services and whisked to Abuja, following the disappearance of a year old boy in his church, Kolawole Gold on November 10, 2019.

The incident took another turn on December 18 when irate youths in the area invaded his church and burnt it to ashes on an information that the pastor had allegedly confessed to have buried the missing child on his altar.

The prophet who was charged for kidnapping, conspiracy and felony was remanded in prison alongside six other members of the church while the case was adjourned till January 14.

Except a close monitoring is placed on the prophet by prison officials, the possibility of Prophet Babatunde Alfa taking a short cut to evade justice is palpable, going by his recent display in the custody.
