  The United States of America has revealed and taken punitive actions against six Nigerians fingered in sponsoring terrorism.

The United States government made the revelation in a statement by spokesperson Ned Price on Friday.


According to price, the listed and sanctioned six Nigerians were guilty of setting up a Boko Haram cell in the United Arab Emirates.

 

“The United States is designating six individuals for their support of the terrorist group Boko Haram…for having materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, or technological support for, or goods or services to or in support of, Boko Haram,” the statement said.


The individuals named by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control are Abdurrahman Ado Musa, Salihu Yusuf Adamu, Bashir Ali Yusuf, Muhammed Ibrahim Isa, Ibrahim Ali Alhassan and Surajo Abubakar Muhammad.


The DTOFA also included Messrs Musa, Adamu, Yusuf, Isa, Alhassan and Muhammad to the List of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons.


The department maintains that its actions follow arrests, prosecutions, and designations in the UAE from last September 2021.
