Lagos State Emergency Management Agency has debunked the rumors

flying on the Internet concerning the reason behind the Banana Island collapse building. 


The agency  claimed in a statement that a truck collided with the building and caused it to collapse.

The building that fell on First Avenue in Highbrow Banana Island on Wednesday, April 12, did not result in any fatalities, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, or LASEMA.

"Upon arrival of the LASEMA Response Team at the scene of the incident, a six storey building under construction was found to have collapsed. Information gathered revealed that the building collapsed as a result of a truck that ran into the building.

Fortunately, no loss of life, however,  efforts are ongoing to reconstruct the building to ground zero so as to forestall any secondary incident."
